Okay, then. First of all, I'm somewhat horrified
to realize that I'm over 40 years old. I thought
my 27th birthday was just a couple of years ago,
but sadly, that is not the case. 40 sounds so
incredibly ancient. Isn't that awful? Let's skip
this part.
I was happily married to what I thought was a
great guy for almost 20 years, but he divorced me
a few months ago, so apparently it wasn't as happy
as I thought! :-)
I'm not looking for romance of any sort, just
friends. I enjoy talking about everything from
politics to day-to-day life. I've had a somewhat
interesting past, so if you'd like to discuss
sociolinguistic theory or just shoot the breeze
over what an idiot your boss/professor/customers
are, I am right there for you!
I'm cheerful, but I suffer from a chronic illness
so I do have my bits of depression over that from
time to time. I don't need to impose that on you
as a penpal, though.
I speak a little bit of Japanese, Korean, Spanish,
French, and German (some more than others) so I'd
love anyone who has these as their native language
to feel free to drop me a line. I have a Master's
in English, so I'll be happy to help there as well
if it comes up -- but I do want a friend and not
just a student. :-)
I try to be honest, kind, and ethical in all I do,
and I love trying to make people laugh. I love
animals: I have two dogs and four cats.

funny, or interesting.
I have no age restrictions whatsoever, because I
have friends ranging from 16 to 85. As long as
